project

PETRHA+ is a continuation of the PETRHA project which allows European physiotherapy students to train themselves in the clinical process and to structure clinical reasoning through the creation of virtual clinical cases based on real patients in geriatrics.

The PETRHA+ created a training system focused on the development of clinical reasoning for European students in Physiotherapy. It enables them to train themselves in the clinical process and structure their clinical reasoning through the creation of virtual clinical cases based on real paediatric patients.

More broadly, the project’s perspective is to consider a harmonised practice between European countries, responding to the initial training standards in physiotherapy, in order to guarantee the creation of a flexible tool that can be adapted to all standards.

PETRHA+ gives a significant place to students. Physiotherapy students from partner institutions participated in the learning outcomes related to clinical cases, both in their development and in the assessment of their peers from other countries. They also had the opportunity to participate in various events including the 2nd edition of the European PETRHA Cup!

HELB-IP
The Haute Ecole Libre de Bruxelles - Ilya Prigogine (approximately 2700 students) has thirteen Bachelor's degrees of 3 or 4 years of study (180 or 240 ECTS) as well as a Master's degree in Kinesitherapy in a wide variety of sectors (in the paramedical and social fields but also in Economics and Technology) spread over three campuses throughout Brussels (Mercure - Reyers and Erasmus) and is affiliated with the Université Libre de Bruxelles
IRFSS Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The Institut Régional de Formation Sanitaire et Sociale, created in 1950 and based in Bègles, is one of the training institutes of the French Red Cross. It includes training courses covering health, social, first aid and occupational risks. The French Red Cross is both an association of more than 53,000 volunteers committed for more than 150 years to the fight against precariousness and a non-profit service company, with more than 17,700 employees and 600 establishments in the health and social field.
IPP
The Polytechnic Institute of Porto is a public higher education institution, created in 1985. With more than 18,500 students, it is the largest polytechnic institute in Portugal. It is characterized by its interdisciplinarity by bringing together 7 schools, including one of the health professions that cover a wide spectrum of scientific knowledge.
SimforHealth
imforHealth is a publisher of innovative digital solutions for the training of healthcare professionals. The company works with many healthcare stakeholders to design immersive and interactive learning solutions available on screen or in virtual reality. SimforHealth has also developed MedicActiV, an international digital simulation platform dedicated to consulting, creating and distributing digital simulators for health training.
UPM
The Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) is the oldest and largest Spanish technical university. It has nearly 3,000 faculty members, about 35,000 undergraduate students and 6,500 graduate students in 18 schools of study. UPM schools cover most engineering disciplines, as well as architecture, computer science, geodesy and cartography, and more recently fashion and sports. The Instituto Nacional de Educación Física (INEF) was founded by the Physical Education Act of 23 December 1961 as the first "faculty" in sports science in Spain.
TAMK
Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) is one of the largest and best known universities of applied sciences in Finland and has been a full member of the Tampere university community since early 2019 - an expert in higher professional education. TAMK is oriented towards professional life and RDI cooperation. Our strengths are multidisciplinary education, creativity and an important international dimension, with a particular focus on technology, wellness services and culture. TAMK's quality system has been audited by the Education Assessment Centre in Finland.

Last Tuesday, Bruno Albouy, physiotherapy teacher at IRFSS Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and 2 of his students went to Paris to present the Petrha Serious Game during the 23rd ENPHE Congress which theme was « Education for Innovation and Multidisciplinarity ».

Last week, the partners all gathered for the first time in Brussels, Belgium. HELB Ilya Prigogine, which is the project coordinator, organised this 1st transnational meeting in order to present especifically the administrative and financial management of the partnership that will end in August 2021.

Between December 10th and 14th, two teachers from each partner, involved in the outputs of the PETRHA+ project, gathered in Brussels at HELB. They took part in a training session on clinical reasoning, in particular to define the methodology used for the evaluation work.
