Physiotherapy students and teachers from Europe, you are invited to the European PETRHA Cup II. This second edition is a virtual event organized by the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain), from March 18th to 26th, 2021.
During this contest, students in physiotherapy will compete online on PETRHA, a serious game developed under the PETRHA+ project. After playing and testing the initial game with geriatric clinical cases (http://www.petrha.org), the students at the PETRHA CUP II they will have to resolve, within an allocated time, a consistent and relevant clinical diagnosis and approach for the proposed cases in 4 physiotherapy specialties (cardiology and respiratory, neurology, musculoskeletal, and pediatrics). The teams that will achieve the highest score in each specialty will won a one-year subscription to PETRHA serious game for their school.
All students wishing to compete must be registered by their Faculty or School, as there is a limit of 8 students per University. Each Faculty-School must appoint a contact teacher. This person will have to register the students of his/her Faculty-School by an application form (see below). The Faculty-School can only register one team per specialty (each team includes two students), then 8 students (i.e. 4 couples, one couple per specialty).
These are the details of the European PETRHA Cup II competition:
MODE OF PLAY: On-line in pairs or couple (2 students in a team).
DATE: From Thursday 18thto Friday 26th march 2021.
NUMBER OF STUDENTS ALLOWED: Two students (a pair) per university and specialty (i.e. 8 students per university).
TOTAL STUDENTS ALLOWED: 400 Students ≈ 50 Faculties: 100 students per specialty (≈ 50 couples). If each faculty does the inscription of the 4 specialties, it will enroll 8 students. Then with 50 faculties we can achieve 400 students.
PLAY TIME: From 14:30h to 18h (Belgium-France-Spain time). See your time adjustment in other countries (e.g. Portugal: 13:30h to 17h; Finland: 15:30h to 19h).
4 PHYSIOTHERAPY SPECIALTIES:
-Musculoskeletal (MSKT)
-Pediatric (PEDIAT)
-Cardio-respiratory (CARDIO-RESP)
-Neurology (NEURO).
RECOMMENDATION: You must see the PETRHA MOOC and play with the geriatric clinical demo cases (http://www.petrha.org) before to participate in the PETRHA CUP II.
REGISTRATION:
-All students wishing to compete must be registered by their Faculty or School, as there is a limit of 8 students per University.
-Each Faculty-School must appoint a contact teacher.

-The Faculty-School can only register one team per specialty (each team includes two students), then 8 students (i.e. 4 couples, one couple per specialty).
-The contact teacher must ensure that all the students have played before the PETRHA Cup II on the platform with the geriatric clinical cases and already have a PETRHA account (http://www.petrha.org). This is essential to have less problems in the first connection.
-The deadline for the PETRHA Cup II inscription is the 7th of March 2021.
SCHEDULE:
CLINICAL CASE “MATCHES”:
TIME TO RESOLVE THE CLINICAL CASES: You will have one hour and a half to resolve each of the clinical cases. Remember that, if you overpass this time you will not be scored.
CASE 1 AND CASE 2:
Case 1: Must be done individually together with a questionary of clinical reasoning. All the students will do on Thursday 18th Each student at the time of his/her specialty:
-MSKT and NEURO: From 15h to 16:30h. You will have 1 hour and a half to resolve the clinical case 1. After, you must fill the questionary of clinical reasoning (you have no time limit on it). Please read and fill it concentrated.
-PEDIAT and CARDIO-RESP: From 16:30h to 18h. You will have 1 hour and a half to resolve the clinical case 1. After, you must fill the questionary of clinical reasoning (you have no time limit on it). Please read and fill it concentrated.
Case 2: Must be done in couple. Each couple must create a session in an on-line meeting platform (e.g. Zoom, skype), and play together.
-From 14:30h to 16h. You will have 1 hour and a half to resolve the clinical case 2. You must finish just before 16h because if not you will not be scored.
-We recommend to you to play with the computer with the best connection to share the screen.
CLASIFICATION TO SEMIFINALS:
-The organization through your session data at the platform will do the mean between your scores of the clinical case 1 (i.e. we will do the mean of each couple), and of the case 2.
-We will select the best four pairs per specialty and next they play the semifinals 😊
SEMIFINALS:
-The players of the semifinal will play in a Zoom meeting created by the organization. We will create 1 Zoom session with 4 rooms (one per couple). All the participants may follow the competition in streaming and come in the 4 rooms.
-The couples in semifinals must share all the time their play screen to permit to see the clinical case resolution to all the public. Please, play with the computer with the best connection to share the screen.
-The organization will select the best two pairs per specialty and then on Friday they will play the finals 😊
FINALS:
-The players of the four finals will play in a Zoom meeting created by the organization. We will create 1 Zoom session with 8 rooms (one per couple). All the participants may follow the competition in streaming and come in the 8 rooms.
-The couples in finals must share all the time their play screen to permit to see the clinical case resolution to all the public. Please, play with the computer with the best connection to share the screen.
-The organization will select the best team per specialty: THE PETRHA CUP II WINNERS 😊
-The evaluation post-PETRHA CUP will be available up to 48h after the elimination of each pair. We can check the differences between play 2, 3 or 4 clinical cases.
AWARDS AND PARTICIPATION GIFTS:
To receive the awards and/or participation faculty gifts all the students participants must do individually the initial and final evaluation (i.e. Case clinic 1 and the questionary before and after the PETRHA Cup II).
-Awards for the CHAMPIONS of each specialty: A PETRHA Cup II Surprise will send to your home and a Diploma
-Awards for the SEMIFINALISTS of each specialty: A 1-year PETRHA+ full license for the 16 faculties semifinalists.
–PARTICIPATION GIFTS: A 6-months PETRHA+ full license for the 40 following faculties who do not achieve the semifinals.
